DETAILED ITINERARY
 
 
Day 1 - Departure
Depart from your home country.
Day 2 - Delhi
Arrival at the International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to hotel. We do half-day sightseeing of Old Delhi. We do an amusing rickshaw ride in the narrow lanes of the medieval styled shopping haven of Chandni Chowk. The ride is a very interesting one. We also visit the largest mosque of India - Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque). The mosque can accommodate about 25,000 people at once. On our way back to New Delhi, we drive by India Gate, Parliament House and President's Estate. We also go to IMF for briefing. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 - Delhi / Leh (3500 m)
After early morning, transfer to the airport for flight to Leh. On arrival in Leh, we advise you to take rest, and drink at least 4 - 5 litres of water to help the body acclimatise. We take a short acclimatization walk in the evening to Leh Old Fort  and local bazaar.  Overnight in Hotel.
Day 4 - Leh
We do sightseeing today visiting some of the well-known Monasteries in Leh. We visit Shey Monastery which has a big copper statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Further two km is Thikse Monastery which has about 80 monks residing in it.  After visiting Thikse Monastery we drive further to Hemis Monastery which is 360 years old and known for one of the biggest festivals in Ladakh – Hemis Festival. This festival is held in the Monastery every year in the month of June/July. The gigantic Tankha, one of the largest in the world, is displayed once in 12 years. We visit the monastery and drive 40 km/ 1 hr to Leh.  Overnight in Hotel.
Day 5 - Leh / Lamayuru (3440 m) / Heniskut (4000 m) / Kanji (4500 m)
In the morning, drive 120 km/ 4 hr to Lamayuru monastery which is set amidst stark and dramatic mountains.  Enjoy the spectacular landscape of Lamayuru. After visiting the monastery, we further drive 30 km / 1 hr to Kanji along the Kangi Nallah through the magnificent gorges until we arrive at Kanji village.  It’s a small village of few houses and a small Gompa.  Overnight in Tent.
Day 6 - Kanji/ Base of Kanji La (5100 m)
After breakfast we continue trekking till Koi-Do (Sumdo) and then to the right along a small stream.  We camp at the base of the famous Kanji La pass.  (5 – 6 hrs trek).  Overnight in Tent.
Day 7 - Kanji La Base / Kanji La (5255 m) / Rusgogdo (4300 m)
Today we will get the first view of Nun - Kun peak from top of Kanji La (on a clear weather). Its a gradual ascend to the top of Kanji La and then descend through a narrow valley to the campsite at Rusgogdo. (7 – 8 hrs trek). Overnight in Tent.
Day 8 - Rusgogdo / Ringdom (3650 m)
After breakfast, we continue trekking through Ringdom Nallah to the Ringdom Monastery which is situated at the heart of the central valley of Zanskar.  After visiting the Monastery, we continue trekking further to the Campsite.  Overnight in Tent.
Day 9 - Ringdom / Gulmatonga (3890 m)
We traverse the Suru River and continue trekking along the River to Gulmatonga (6 – 7 hrs trek). Overnight in Tents.
Day 10 - Gulmatonga / Base Camp (4500 m)
We cross the river and continue trekking up the hill towards Shafat Nallah till we reach the Moraine Camp.  Thereafter, we continue trekking further up we arrive at the Kun Base Camp. Arrive and set up the Base Camp (5 – 6 hr trek). Overnight in Tent.
Day 11 - Day 25 - Base Camp / Above Base Camp / Base Camp
We start the climb to Kun peak.  There are three more Camps to be set up in between the summit.  The route to Camp 1 (approx. 5300 m) is through rock and snow slopes.  We pass through the glacier for Camp 2 (approx. 6100 m) and there is an ice fall which needs to be negotiated to get on to the ridge.  Climb over the ride on a steep slope walking approx. 400 m up we set up Camp 3 (approx. 6500 m).  We attempt the Summit from here. Overnight in Tents.
 
Day 26 - Base Camp / Gulmatonga (3890 m)
Trekking down to Gulmatonga. Overnight in Tent.
Day 27 - Gulmatonga / Kargil
Drive 105 km / 5 hr on a difficult road to Kargil which is situated along the banks of Suru River in the West of Leh.   Overnight in simple hotel / Guest House.
Day 28 - Kargil / Leh
Drive 240 km / 8 hrs to Leh which is a fascinating journey passing through the high passes of Photu La (4093 m), Namnik La (3720 m) and the fragile mountainside. Arrive in Leh and check in to the hotel. 
Day 29 - Leh / Delhi
We fly to Delhi and upon arrival transfer to hotel.  Later, debriefing in IMF.  Overnight in hotel.
Day 30 - Delhi / Agra (Optional) / Departure
Day free in Delhi, or optional day excursion to Agra. Later, we transfer you to the International Airport for your journey back home.
