DETAILED ITINERARY
 
 
Day 1 - Departure
Depart from your home country.
Day 2 - Delhi / Leh (3500 m)
Arrival at the International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to Leh.  Leh airport is one of the most scenic airports with mountains all around providing bliss.  Day free for acclimatization.  A short acclimatization walk to Leh Old Fort and local bazaar in the evening.  It is advised to drink at least 3 - 4 litres of water regularly from today to help get better acclimatized.  Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 - Leh
We do sightseeing of Leh today. We visit Shey Monastery which has a big copper statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. Further two km is Thikse Monastery which has about 80 monks residing in the Monastery.  After visiting Thikse Monastery we drive further to Hemis Monastery which is 360 years old and known for one of the biggest festivals in Ladakh – Hemis Festival. This festival is held in the Monastery every year in the month of June/July. The gigantic Tankha, one of the largest in the world, is displayed once in 12 years. We visit the monastery and drive 40 km/ 1 hr to Leh.  Overnight in Hotel.
Day 4 - Leh / Chilling / Skiu (3300 m)
Trekking begins from today. We go southwest to Chilling, where the Zanskar River is crossed by a cable car. You only carry your small day bag, everything else is loaded on ponies.  It is necessary to overcome a small pass (3400 m) before you reach the first significant village in the Markha Valley - Skiu. Overnight in tents.
Day 5 - Skiu / Markha (3700 m)
The trail today leads us slowly up into Markha. Overnight in tents.
Day 6 - Markha / Thachungtse (4200 m)
Today's trekking leads us to Thachungtse.  On our way, we can see the snow - clad peak of Kang Yatze rising up. Overnight in tents.
Day 8 - Thachungtse / Base Camp of Kang Yatze II 
Trek to Base Camp of Kang Yatze II.  Relax the whole afternoon.  Overnight in tents.
Day 9 - Base Camp / Ascent of Kang Yatze II / Base Camp
We climb Kang Yatze II today and descend down to the Base Camp.
Day 10 - Base Camp / Nimaling (4800 m) / Kongmaru La (5150 m) / Chogdo (4000 m)
Cross Kongmaru La, from where we get excellent views of the surrounding peaks. Continue to Chogdo. Overnight in tents.
Day 11 - Chogdo / Gyancho La (4600 m) / Shang Phu (4500 m)
Cross another pass Gyancho La, and descend down to Shyang Phu.  Overnight in tents.
Day 12 - Shang Phu / Shang La (4800 m) / Matho Phu (4350 m)
Cross one more pass Shang La and descend down to the Camp of Matho Phu.  Overnight in tents.
Day 13 - Matho Phu / Matho La (4850 m) / Mankarmo (4400 m)
Cross the pass Matho La and reach Makarmo, which leads to the route to Stok Kangri.
Day 14 - Mankarmo / Stok Kangri Base Camp (5000 m)
A short trek takes you to the Base Camp of Stok Kangri. Rest well for the summit.  Overnight in tents.
Day 15 - Stok Kangri Base Camp / Stok Kangri (6120 m) / Stok Kangri Base Camp
We summit Stok Kangri today. Come down to the Base Camp after the summit.  Overnight in tents.
Day 16 - Stok Kangri Base Camp / Leh
Leave the Base Camp and hike down to the village of Stok, from where you will be picked up.  Drive to Leh. Overnight in hotel.
Day 17 - Leh / Delhi
Transfer to airport for flight to Delhi. Upon arrival transfer to hotel. Thereafter half day sightseeing of Old Delhi visiting Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Rickshaw ride in crowded Chandni Chowk, drive through President House and India Gate. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 18 - Delhi / Agra (optional) / Departure
Day free in Delhi or optional excursion to Agra. Later, we transfer you to the International airport for your journey back home.
