DETAILED ITINERARY
 
 
Day 1 - Departure
Depart from your home country.
Day 2 - Delhi 
Arrival at the International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to hotel. Later, we do an amusing rickshaw ride in the narrow lanes of the medieval styled shopping haven of Chandni Chowk. The ride is a very interesting one. We also visit the largest mosque of India - Jama Masjid (Friday Mosque). The mosque can accommodate about 25,000 people at once. On our way back to New Delhi, we drive by India Gate, Parliament House and President's Estate. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 - Delhi / Rishikesh
Early morning, we take train to Haridwar, from where we drive 1 hr to Rishikesh.  Rishikesh is located on the banks of the river Ganga where we find multitude of religious activities, Sadhu and Yoga Ashrams. In the evening, we witness Ganga Arti (Worship) by the side of River Ganga. The fading light of the day and with lit up butter oil lamps held by Priests, chanting mantras at the Ghat offers you a heavenly solace. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 4 - Rishikesh / Joshimath (1875 m)
After breakfast drive 250 km / 8 hr to Joshimath.  Joshimath derived from Jyotir Math – the seat of Adi Guru Shankaracharya.  We enjoy driving through the beautiful landscape and valleys.  Overnight in Hotel.
Day 5 - Day 6 - Joshimath / Ghansali (3400 m) / Niti (3500 m)
In Joshimath we have to report to District Office to complete the last minute formalities for inner line.  So, we have to keep one day free in Joshimath for government formalities for our peak.  Next day, after early morning breakfast we drive by jeep 61 km to Malari, then further 15 km to Ghansali and the last stretch of bone rattling drive is 5 km to Niti, the last village on our route.  Total 81 km / 5-6 hr through the Dhauli Ganga Valley. We meet our Mules in Niti hired for the expedition.  Overnight in Tent.
Day 7 - Niti / Shepuk Kharak (3900 m)
We begin the trekking to the Base Camp.  Total trek 11 km / 6 hr.  First 7 km uphill to Goting Dhar, the last 4 km levelled trek.  Overnight in Tent.
Day 8 - Shepuk Kharak / Raikana Kharak (4400 m) / Vasundhara Tal (4700 m)
After breakfast continue following the trail which leads us to the valley higher up where Dhauli Ganga exits the Kharbasia gorge.  We cross the river through a bridge or a rope and go to the other side of the river and then follow the trail to the camp at Raikana Kharak, also known as Nanda Kharak.  The trail crosses several scree fields and leads the valley .Vegetation is sparse and most of the valley is scree-covered.  (5 – 6 hr trek). We continue trekking higher up to Vasundhara Tal (4700 m) which is the Base Camp Site for the Kamet Expedition.  Total trek 11 km / 7 hr.  We set up the Base Camp. Overnight in Tent.
Day 9 - Day 10 - Vasundhara Tal
Day free at the Base Camp to acclimatize. Possibility to do some hiking trips in unnamed peaks in the surroundings of camp area to acclimatise or ferry to the Advance Base Camp. Overnight in Tent.
Day 11 - Day 13 - Base Camp / Advance Base Camp (5550 m)
We set up the Advance Base Camp on Purbi Glacier (East Kamet Glacier). The route is through rocks and snow slopes and takes two days to get there. Overnight in Tent.
Day 14 - Day 29 - Advance Base Camp / Summit / Advance Base Camp
We start climbing to Mt Kamet.  There are three more Camps to set up before the summit.  For Camp 1 (approx 6100 m) we need to cross the Glacier and then an ice fall which needs to be negotiated to get on to the ridge.  Camp II is located at 6600 m which is  steep approx 400 m. Camp III is  set at 7100 m Meade’s Col and is reached negotiating a steep glacier that show deep crevasses.  We attempt the Summit from here.  There is a steep snow and ice passage to the summit. 
Day 30 - Day 31 - ABC / BC
Wind up ABC and come down to Base Camp.
Day 32 - Day 33 - BC / Niti
Wind up Base Camp and trekking down to Niti. Overnight in Tent.
Day 34 - Niti / Joshimath / Pipalkoti
After breakfast we drive 125 km / 7 hr to Pipalkoti via Malari and then Joshimath.  Overnight in Hotel.
Day 35 - Pipalkoti / Rishikesh
After breakfast drive 210 km / 7 hr to Rishikesh. En route we drive by Dev Prayag where Bhagirathi river meets the mighty Alaknanda river.  From Dev Prayag the river gets its name a Ganga river. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 36 - Rishikesh / Delhi
After breakfast drive 226 km / 6 hr to Delhi.  Overnight in hotel.
 
Day 37 - Delhi / Departure
After breakfast, we go to IMF for debriefing. Rest of the time free at leisure.   Later, we transfer you to the International airport for your journey back home.
